Amy Banovich

RESUME:  Partner, KPMG

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE ON THE BOARD? KPMG is a significant sponsor of the games. I’ve become very involved with diversity and inclusion at our firm so this just seemed like a natural extension for me.

WHAT SPORTS HAVE YOU PLAYED? In high school in Wisconsin I was a high jumper.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM SPORTS THAT YOU’VE APPLIED TO YOUR CAREER? In our business you compete for clients and to do that successfully you need a team. I love the team I’m on and the camaraderie we have and the joy we take in winning.

WHAT WILL IT MEAN TO SEATTLE TO HOST THE GAMES? We’re trying to make this a really inclusive event and make Seattle shine as a diverse and inclusive city. That’s really important to Seattle and it’s something we’re focusing on.

WHAT SHOULD ATHLETES SEE WHEN THEY VISIT SEATTLE? Getting on a ferry and going to one of the islands is something unique to Seattle. We’ve got great museums and the Pacific Science Center is great, too.
